Corgis And Rainbows

Happy Tasha Tudor Day!

Tasha was a wonderful lady and I love many of the same things as her. Especially tea and corgis! Corgis are my favorite kind of dog and someday I will definitely own one.

So cute!

Anyway to celebrate I had a nice tea today (okay so I usually do that anyway) and looked at one of the books I have had forever.

This book was and still is very special to me since I have had it for so long. I am sure it is very special to a lot of people since it is a Tasha Tudor classic.

It was given to me for my birthday by the daughters of the lady whose daycare I went to. They were my friends, but older than me. It still has their notes in it!

I guess it was my third birthday.

So lovely.

Also, the weather did some special things today and I would like to think it was in honor of Tasha.

Did you do anything to celebrate Tasha Tudor Day? Are you curious to know more about her? Go here.

Bones & Blossoms

(Lovely Nature)

My classes have started and now that I am a lot more busy I probably won't have as many things to post about, but I will do my best. Today I had the day off so I took lots of pictures.

A lot of the plants on my patio are blooming. It is wonderful to have them since it is so deserty here.

They are so pretty, and such vibrant colors. I couldn't resist.

I also went to the pool today and there were even more lovely nature moments.

Bones have always fascinated me, ever since I was little. My parents' house is on twenty acres and we would go on walks around the property. I called it bone hunting because whenever I found bones I would pick them up and bring them home. For the longest time they all lived in a bag together, my "bone bag." Did I mention before that I like strange things? Anyway, I don't really collect them anymore, but I still like them. They are beautiful and sad at the same time.

A few days ago I had to fish a dead mouse out of the pool (it made me very sad) and when I looked today the mouse had already been reduced to this.

The mouse next to all the flowers blooming was something....I don't know.....moving? The circle of life and all (cue Lion King music).

I also discovered the bird nest in a tree by the pool.

And this little guy posed very nicely for me.

It was just a naturey kind of day.

And to end it there was an amazing moon. It had wispy clouds in front of it, which of course looked awesome, but made my pictures all blurry because the camera couldn't focus.

As a write this I am watching Labyrinth. I hadn't seen it in a while, but this movie was/is a staple for me (I have seen it about a bajillion times). If you have never seen it you are missing out! David Bowie is the man.

Peter Pan Complex

Does anyone else have a Peter Pan complex? You know, never wanting to grow up? I realized that the best way to achieve this is to just don't do it. I mean technically I am a grown up (although I don't really think of myself that way) doing all sorts of adult things, but I still feel like I love all the things I did when I was a kid. I am still a kid inside and that is where it counts! Before I moved here, I was helping my parents clean out their garage and deciding what stuff to move with me and what stuff to get rid of. I found this collage that I did with a friend in I think 6th grade (we each did our own, we just worked on them at the same time). Looking at it I realize that I am still that same person who made that collage, if I had to do it again right now, I would probably still choose a lot of the same pictures, and you know what? I like it that way! I decided it was time to get rid of it since some of the things were falling off, but I took a picture first so I could remember.

So when it comes to growing up I say, let's just not. Who's with me?!
