Valentines And A Giveaway!

Helllooooo!! I feel as if I haven't posted in forever! I have been busy and sick, but now I am back.

I know Valentine's Day was quite a few days ago now, but I would still like to share! But first, a giveaway, hooray!

So I work at a tea room that has delicious food,

and adorable gifts, and of course, tea! I love working there and I would like to share some of that tea shop love with you in a giveaway. So here is the deal, just go to this link Chantilly Teas and then leave me a comment on this post with which teas you think sound yummy! Also, any comments about what sort of things you like (flowers, silver, gold, crystal, colors, etc.) and any accessories you might be needing (strainers, tea cups, doilies, stationary, etc.) will help too! You see, if you win I will be hand choosing some items from the shop for you, so the more detailed you are the more likely you will love the things I choose. If you are lazy and don't want to go to the link or state your specific likes, that is okay too (believe me, I am lazy a lot) just leave me any old comment and you will still be entered. Also, you do not have to be a follower, but if you are just let me know and you will get a second entry!

I will be leaving this open for a few weeks to hopefully get as many people as possible to enter. So tell your neighbors and tell your friends!

Now, on to all my Valentine's Day shenanigans. Mister B and I don't really do gifts or anything, we just have one Valentine's tradition that we love. We get all dressed up and go out to eat at pizza hut! We love pizza so we would much rather go there than some fancy restaurant, but getting dressed up and eating there still makes it fun.

Other than that I usually get myself presents, yay!

Like Valentine's tea (heart scone from Chantilly).

Candy and flowers to decorate my table.

Trader Joe's goodies. (I love the label on the wine, and those cookies are seriously the best tea cookie EVER.)

I also made some heart pastries! The recipe is from Tea Time magazine. Mine don't look quite as pretty as the picture, but they still tasted good.

Oh and the Mister and I got another pizza as well (on an earlier night) because it was shaped like a heart!

I hope you all had lovely V-days as well! Don't forget to enter the giveaway and I will see you again soon.

love, Alia

ps. You may have noticed the countdown at the top of the page. The 22nd is National Margarita Day, so don't forget to celebrate. I know I will be!

  2. A tea room? HOW FUN! I would totally love that. And now I'm kinda sad I didn't see anything as interesting as those cookies at Trader Joe's the ONE time I've been there. It's so far away...

Am totally with you on pizza! And your heart pastries are totally making me hungry.

I had fun going through the tea selection. Chocolate orange sounds amazing. Winter Blend sounds amazing (I had a winter blend and I finally used it all this year. Sad face.)
And the Tuscan Garden sounds amazing. (Basically if it says there is fruit in it I'm in love).

I had a tea party last year and have been collecting things to use on my table for this year. The one thing I don't have anything like? A spoon or tea bag rest. When I have my nightly cup I'm like ummm what do I do with this?

I'm hosting a giveaway as well and would be delighted if you'd stop by and say hello.

And now I totally want to open a tea room...

  3. Hi there. Thanks for linking up on the Friday Flower today. How great to work in a tea room... conjures up lots of nice images! To say you don't 'do' Valentines, it really looks as though you pushed the boat out to me! Well done. It all looks amazing! I'll have to pop to Trader Joes nd try those cookies for myself! Have a great weekend. Lx

  4. You're tea tables are always beyond beautiful. I generally just love tea and tea accoutrement. I would love to be a part of your giveaway and leave the picking and choosing to your discretion and expert eye. :) I am also a follower.

  5. Happy late Valentine's Day. So sorry to hear you were sick. :( What a generous giveaway! That chocolate orange tea is tops with me! Colors - I guess white (kind of like your creamer set) or florals for a lovely tea cup, doily, a cute tea bag rest. I prefer silver to gold. I guess that's it. LOL If I should win, I'll let you decide...you have great taste! Of course, a bit of chocolate always goes well with tea, too! Have a great weekend!!!! Theresa

  6. Chantilly does look like a fun place to work, and that salad looks amazing!

May Canadians enter your giveaway? I'm especially intrigued by the nut teas (like the Roasted Almond Oolong and the Walnut Green). The Chocolate Mint and Pearl of Fujian teas look interesting, too, and I also like anything with citrus flavours. As for accessories, I'm a fan of plain and simple shapes (easy to clean and hard to break) and solid colours (generally white or dark) - the ornate decorative accessories are lovely when I have the chance to visit a tea room, but they wouldn't get used day-to-day.

  7. What a lovely Giveaway and pretty, festive pictures!

I adore Tea Rooms...it seems they are a hard success to keep....so many of my favorites are no longer in business....your place looks like it could easily be one of my favorites, if only I could visit...

That's why this is such a nice idea...and so fun :)

I love a good vanilla infusion, so Winter Blend, Vanilla Cream and Almond Cookie Green all sound tantalizing! A Scone is so lonely without Devonshire cream....I would definately love some of that.....I prefer silver to gold...love birds, nests, dragonflies, foresty things...and the color green....
Thank you so much for including me!

  9. Another person who works at a shop full of too many fun things to bring home! I spend too much of my paycheque each month at our gift shop.

Love all the teas, but Peach-Apricot is a fave of mine. I'd love to try the Almond or the Windsor Castle too - they sound yummy! I looked at the pics of the store and it's so cute! You sell stationery there? I'm addicted to note pads - lol!

Thanks for the chance to enter! And happy to be a follower too!

  10. Wow how beautiful!! I am now a follower. Found you through Rue <3 Hmmm for the teas I would have to pick The White Swiss Truffle or the Ginger Peach. I love pink and purples, rose quartz. I am a girlie girl :) Glad to have come across your blog

  11. Sounds like you have a lovely job :)

I love anything almond and the peach teas sound pretty delicious too. As far as style, I love old mismatched tea cups and saucers, cottage gardens, and folk art.

    Thanks for the great giveaway!

  12. Oh, to work in a tea room!

Well, the two that sound best to be are the Irish and English breakfast, as I most enjoy a very hearty cuppa. But there are others that sound very inviting too, such as the almond cookie green tea, the vanilla cream rooibos and the ginger peach black tea.

I love that you offer gluten free items on your menu! Scones and shortbread cookies are two of the things I miss since going gluten free about a year ago.

Let's see, what else? I'm a silver person, and love green. I find mismatched cups and saucers very endearing, and love nice big mugs for that "endless cup of tea" feel.

Thanks for hosting such an awesome giveaway!
